Frank J. Abella, Jr.

Frank J. Abella, Jr., Co-Manager of Investment Partners Opportunities Fund and President and CEO of Investment Partners Group, directs all advisory and consulting activities.

With ME and MS degrees in engineering and science from Stevens Institute of Technology, Frank began his professional career as a development engineer with the Linde Division of Union Carbide. He left to pursue his MBA at the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Upon graduation he returned to Linde as a strategist on their Multinational Strategic Planning staff.

In 1969 he entered the investment community as a portfolio manager. Through the 1980s and early 1990s he oversaw a number of venture-capital and business-development efforts. In, 1995 he formed Investment Partners Asset Management.

Frank is a past member of the North American Society for Corporate Planning and the Board of Emerging Company Marketplace of the American Stock Exchange.

Frank J. Abella III

Frank J. Abella III ("Jay"), Co-Manager of Investment Partners Opportunities Fund, serves as Vice President of Investment Partners Group, President of Investment Partners Capital and Management, and as a Portfolio Manager in Investment Partners Asset Management.

Jay graduated from Middlebury College in 1989 with a degree in Biochemistry. In 1994, he earned an advanced degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina.

Jay began his professional career as a project administrator with Parexel International Corporation and later joined Quintiles Transnational as a Drug Development Consultant.

Throughout his career, in product development for eight years and in the investment industry for more than seven years, he has analyzed many companies in various growth stages, especially in the life sciences area.

He joined Investment Partners in 1998.

Gregg

Gregg T. Abella

Gregg T. Abella, Co-Manager of Investment Partners Opportunities Fund, is the Treasurer of Investment Partners Group and a Portfolio Manager in Investment Partners Asset Management.

After graduating from Bowdoin College in 1992 with degrees in both Economics and Spanish, he began his professional career at Chubb & Son in the International Division of the Surety Credit Department handling Latin America and Europe.

Gregg subsequently held a number of positions with Chubb and its subsidiaries, ultimately establishing and managing the Guarantee Department for Chubb do Brasil in São Paulo, Brazil.

Gregg’s multinational experience and credit analysis skills bring a unique global perspective to the firm's clients.

He joined Investment Partners in 1998.

Tom

Thomas W. Shepherd

Thomas W. Shepherd is Vice President of Investment Partners Asset Management.

Tom graduated from Vanderbilt University with a double major in Math and Spanish. He developed his financial expertise during a 20-year career at JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA in Manhattan, where he provided a wide range of banking and credit services as a manager in the bank’s middle-market sector.

Tom earned his MBA at the NYU Stern School of Business in 2001 and joined the Investment Partners Asset Management Team in June of 2008.

Brian

Brian Brown

Brian Brown is the Operations Manager of Investment Partners Capital & Management. Brian began his professional career with Investment Partners Group in 2002.

He earned a BA in Economics from Rutgers University.
